Visiting alpacas is becoming one of the most popular activities right across the country, with trekking possibly the most common. Here at Alpaca Encounters we do things a little differently introducing you to our full breeding herd – but more on their terms.

We focus our encounters on visiting the alpacas in their respective paddocks, giving you the chance to learn about them and for you to enjoy being around them in their natural environment.

All of our visits are bespoke to your visiting party, whether that be 2 people, a family including children, a large group or something in between. We also enjoy hosting children’s parties. In most cases we give you a bag of feed each – which makes some of the herd strongly attracted to you! A typical Encounter lasts c. 75 minutes but we can do a shorter version if required.

We are generally birthing between April and July but there are always babies (cria) of whatever age to meet too. Our land is easily accessible, though it can get muddy so we always suggest you dress appropriately.
